HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY NEW ALBUM!

IMG_4134

Happy New Year… and what better way to launch it than a one-off show in old London Town! On the 10th January 2015 we join Norwegian punks Honningbarna on their first headline UK show. The venue is our favourite rock ‘n’ roll haunt in E1, The Pipeline. Bringing up the rear is the excellent Cretin 77, so a full-on night of high-octane punk action is guaranteed. We know loads have snapped up tickets, but YOU can be part of the fun for £10. Tickets here

The new album is a-coming we tell thee! Ginge and VJ talk to Underkill TV about it all and more in Episode 95 (above). Give a watch and/or a “like” or a share on that social media, for we are very excited about the 10 new tracks that will make the next DIY glam punk opus.

We recorded “Motors…” in sheds and cellars, and the new LP will be no different apart from that we can now confirm the rhythm foundations will be laid in the ambience of Newport’s legendary Le Pub. Thanks to Sam at the venue for agreeing to do this for us. There’ll be something really special about pressing “play and record” in the magnificent and historic building.

We have it on good authority that Uber Rock have covered the aforementioned Newport show and it will be online at the end of this week (09/01/15). What will they make of the mayhem and chaos? Fuck knows! What we do know (and are extremely proud of) is we’ve made a few end of year lists, including “Gigs Of 2014” on the only music website that really matters. Check later for the Le Pub review, in the meantime the top gigs list can be viewed here.

Gigs are rolling in for 2015 and at this early stage we know we’ll be sharing the stage with some truly awesome bands… The Dictators, Chuck Norris Experiment, Exit International, Spunk Volcano, Honningbarna, En Garde, and more! Get in touch to touch us live. Full listing thus far are here.

So, it’s the month where the new album will get laid and we’d better get on it! The title has been decided, although we’re keeping it close to our barrel chests at this moment. A provisional order of debauched play has been touted (above) and Glunk Records are on hand to forward to the pressing plant for a hopeful spring release. The time is almost nigh to make you wet! Tidy.

CHRISTMAS 2014 AT LE PUB – A THANK YOU.

Le Pub Xmas 2014 crowd

On an evening where a feast of musical genres hit Newport on the same night, there was a smell of that old “New Seattle” aroma in the air. Our horrible selves were ramping up the glam punk at Le Pub, the mighty reformed Dub War were ripping up The Basement and the 2 Rude all-stars were skanking in the Riverside. All shows amazingly attended, a definite triumph for the city of Newport.

Ginge Le Pub Xmas 2014

After proudly selling out our Le Pub show in a matter of hours and with tickets being exchanged, sold and bought until the final minutes, we were on for a mental night!

Xmas 2014 Badges

Thank you to Sam, Matt and all the staff at Le Pub for hosting and managing the event in the mêlée of drunkenness and debauchery. As photos come in, there were some proud owners of those personalised goodie bags that were cheap enough to make your local pound shop blush!

Le Pub Xmas 2014 Goody Bag

Excellent sets were turned in from Trigger McPoopshute (are they getting tighter? Ahem) and the resplendent noise in the form of Science Bastard. Massive wanks from The Livers’ ladies to both bands.

Le Pub 1014 xmas setlist

And people did travel from far and wide. Carmarthen, Bridgend, Bristol, Devon, Dorset, London… you really do blow us away with your support!

You may have spotted some professional looking cameras darting around Le Pub. That’ll have been award winning filmmaker Hefin Rees and team. The foundations were being laid for a 2015 warts and all rockumentary on the band. We’re serious! What’s the worst that could happen? Watch this space!!

VJ and Ginge also participated an exclusive pre-gig interview for Underkill TV (in the glamorous setting of the Travelodge foyer no less). Next year’s album was discussed along with the usual bollocks that leaves our mouths! Should be online in the next few weeks, we’ll keep you posted!
Matty Xmas 2014 Le Pub
So, in conclusion, an awesome night that ended in a mess of stage invasions, our lovely drummer downing windowed pint glasses of alcoholic slops and an impromptu bum-off (?!?!?!). To everyone who made it the night so, THANK FUCKING YOU!! Same time again next year, is it?

For Bugsy. RIP. xxx

DIVERSE MUSIC IS HAVING A 25th BIRTHDAY PARTY

Goldie Lookin Ale

Diverse Records in Newport turns 25 and they’re having a weekend bash to celebrate from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th September 2013 at Le Pub. It would be rude for The Sick Livers not to do a rock ‘n’ roll turn and happily oblige on Saturday 28th.

The Sick Livers join forces with Death Pedals, Denim Snakes and The Lash as Diverse also launch their own beer on the Saturday in conjunction with Goldie Lookin’ Chain and Tiny Rebel Brewing Company. It’s name? Goldie Lookin’ Ale! The GLC boys will also be DJ-ing on the night.

NEWPORT COUNTY FESTIVAL 2013.

newport County Festival 2013

The Sick Livers headline the Clubhouse Stage at Rodney Parade as part of the Newport County Festival on Sunday 21st July 2013. The Livers are indoors, under wraps, after dark and post watershed. Probably for the best!

Our Exiles loving drummer Matty is soiling himself with excitement already. Come help him party on the night for £3 and celebrate Newport County’s rise to old school Division 4.
