The time has come to lay the foundations of the new LP. Excited much? We are! It’s to the depths of the Rhondda Valleys this week to tighten up the tracks (not too much, mind) and then to the hallowed ground of an unusually empty Le Pub in Newport to lay down the the rhythm section in all it’s raw live glory.
Still scheduled for a spring / early summer release with glam stomp, punk roots, riffs galore and singalongs aplenty, we believe this 10 track opus to be our finest yet. Don’t take out word for it though. On hearing potential lead single ‘Dark, Dangerous & Delicious’ live in Cardiff last year, Mr Charlie Harper of the legendary UK Subs declared: “It’s the best song Hanoi Rocks never wrote!”
We can announce that Glunk Records will release the LP in the UK and Europe, with the serial numbers GLUNK004LP and GLUNK004CD respectively. Distribution news for the USA and the rest of the world to follow. A little meeting with the Glunk Records’ head honchos in early February will reveal all and more.
Whilst cooped up in a day centre at the end of last year, Ginge Knievil made up some limited packs of 10 pin badges for each album track. These will be available on album release at our online merch stall.
We’ve two March live shows in the hometowns of Veej and Ginge in Bridgend County, and DJ and Matty in Torfaen. The 6th sees us hit The Six In Hand in Cwmbran, and on the 7th we return to Hobos Live Music Venue in Bridgend. Both gigs are free entry so no excuses for some dirty rock ‘n’ roll action if you’re near!
Our little Irish jaunt with Trigger McPoopshute is very much alive and some stickers have been spotted (above) on Dublin’s busiest bus stop! Dates are pencilled in for the May Day Bank Holiday weekend and social media reports that Turbojugend Dublin are hosting a meet-up on Saturday 2nd. Things could (and will) get very messy! Watch this space for an official Irish announcement.
As it’s onwards with new material, within a few weeks all our old stuff will be available digitally, some for the first time. “Motors…” and “Flogging A Sick Liver” will be available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer and the like. The latter release is a compilation (originally available on CD) of our early singles ‘Hell Of A Girl’ and ‘Rumney Rock City.’ If you wanna support the band we urge you to buy this over the “From Rumney To Hell…” version as we’ll actually see the pennies to fund future gigs and hard copy releases. Plus you get a spoken word intro track from the filthy Lee Love of The Hip Priests, so you can’t argue with that! Thanks in advance if downloads are your thing.
We played Camden Rocks in 2013 and would love to return in 2015. You can help us DIY chancers get on the bill with the bigger boys by submitting our bad name. We’ll love you forever if you do. Promise! Submit THE SICK LIVERS here.
Our four stringed maestro Dai made the pages of Bass Guitar Magazine this month. Be sure to ask your newsagent for a copy and marvel at his throbbing low-end chat.
Last but certainly not least, shout-out to Trigger McPoopshute who are releasing a 2 track live CD and download in memory of friend of both bands, Bugsy, who tragically passed away on Boxing Day. Something we totally support, the release will aid his family and details in full are here.
