Brace yourselves, it’s a big un!
We were amazed and thrilled to find ourselves on a compilation alongside some our rock ‘n’ roll peers. Humble to the core, The Sick Livers feature on “Burn Out – High Energy Punk Rock” alongside the likes of The Dwarves, Supersuckers, Nashville Pussy, Giuda, Hank Williams III, Fu Manchu and a whole lot more. It’s available to download for free (Google is your friend), and this YouTube trailer (complete with full track listing) is probably a better place to start than any. Click here.
A few gigs to report this month. On Friday 7th November we hit Bristol’s Stag & Hounds to celebrate 50 years of Roy D. Hacksaw’s time on planet Earth. Them Hacksaw boys will be doing a turn themselves, along with the Dynamite Pussy Club and Backhand Jags. Cockney Rejects are also in Bristol that night, but as they finish, we start around 11.30pm so continue the party. It’s free!
Also this month we open for the legendary UK Subs at The Globe in Cardiff on 21st November. That’ll be an early one so arrive when doors open at 7.30pm, party with us during our set and then into the wee hours with Charlie Harper’s boys and The Coffin Nails. Tickets available here.
To the advanced ticket holders of our sold-out Christmas show at Le Pub in Newport, we are already prepping your goodie bags, you lucky buggers! Six tickets were freed up last week and went like hot cakes. The only chance of entry now is if there’s any returns. Check and “like” our Facebook page to be kept informed. Click here.
Hot off the gig press for 2015, we can now announce that’ll we’ll be main support to Norwegian punks Honningbarna on their first headline London show on 10th January at The Pipeline. Cretin 77 open proceedings and tickets have been flying out. Hell, there’s even Scandinavians flying over especially for the show. Tickets are £10, so get on it. Click here.
Yet more hot 2015 gig (and album) news as we headline The Pint in Dublin, Ireland on 2nd May. There’ll be more dates and info to follow. Spring 2015 is the scheduled release of our next long player. We’ll be recording shortly in the same DIY fashion as “Motors, Women, Drugs, Booze & Killing.” A coherent release date across UK & Europe (with ROW to follow) will be announced from Glunk Records early in 2015 and the opus with be available on all hard musical formats. You can help fund the record by simply purchasing a slab of awesome vinyl from the label’s current releases. Click here.
As modelled by George McDonald and Steve Dagger at The Condomerie (?!?!), we have full stock of our biggest t-shirt seller over on our online merch stall. A few of the exclusive “Wet” shirts remain too along with a handful of our last LP, so you know what to do! Click here.
Whilst we busy writing big chorus laden anthems for next year, we didn’t notice our “Cocaine Jeans” video on YouTube had notched up over 1000 views. Us DIY chancers are well happy with that. Thank you, you amazing lot. You’ve probably seen Ginge flogging his wares on the mean streets of Bridgend but if not, check it out.
You can catch an interview with our lunatic frontman Ginge Knievil in Issue 30 of UK fanzine Lights Go Out, along with the likes of Inspiral Carpets, New Model Army and more. It’ll cost you a quid and is available here.
So, that’s it. After a turbulent couple of months in our personal lives (and you we thank you for your understanding), there’s gigs in the capitals of England, Wales and Ireland, a new record on the way, and we’re fucking wetting ourselves with excitement. Hope you are too! Tidy.
